About the event:
This event is a follow-up action to the Indian Ocean Regional Decade Conference 2024 (IO-Con 2024)
that the Decade Collaborative Centre for the Indian Ocean Region pre-emptively hosted as an official prelude to
the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference. During this Satellite Event, discussions, and networking for the Indian Ocean (IO)
region will be furthered and partnerships will be strengthened for furthering towards the Vision 2030 process.
All the stakeholders of the IO-region are welcome. This event will also be open to the media and public to amply
showcase what ocean scientists are pursuing for the well-being of the billions residing in the IO-region.
The scientists may hail from, or they could be professionally connected to, the region.

Objectives of the session:
- Present the outcomes of the Indian Ocean Regional Decade Conference 2024 organized by the DCC-IOR as a prelude to the Barcelona Conference.
- Deliberate on the future priorities for the Ocean Decade Challenges that are emerging via the Vision 2030 process with focus on the Indian Ocean Region.
- Network among stake holders pursuing Ocean Decade Actions in the Indian Ocean Region including DCCs, NDC, ECOPS, Researchers, Academicians, Industries, Social Scientists, NGOs, etc.
