India International Science Festival (IISF)-2021 celebrations at INCOIS

What is IISF?

India International Science Festival (IISF) is organized annually since 2015 by Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA). IISF is an integral part of India's long-term vision of developing and widening the spectrum of scientific temper among various stakeholders of our society. IISFs have been increasingly recognized as the country's largest single platform where scientific fraternity and industrialists get premier opportunities to showcase and exchange their innovations & technological solutions for all-round growth of our country.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has the responsibility of organizing IISF-2021 at Panaji, Goa. Official portal of IISF-2021 is www.scienceindiafest.org. National Center for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), Goa is the nodal agency for organizing the events. Government of Goa is also the joint organizing partner for IISF-2021, and the festival is scheduled from 10 to 13 December 2021 at Panaji, Goa in hybrid mode (physical and virtual). The theme of IISF 2021 is 'Celebrating Creativity in Science'. This year, the festival will focus on the five pillars of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' announced by Honorable Prime Minister. The pillars are: (i) Freedom Struggle; (ii) Ideas@75; (iii) Achievements@75; (iv) Actions@75; and (v) Resolves@75. Each of the pillars have many sub-topics under which various activities will be carried out. Detailed list of these topics are available on official portal of IISF. Since the festival will be organized in hybrid mode, i.e. physical as well as on the virtual platform, it will enable us to connect with a large number of our science-loving citizens across the country as well as those from the international community.
