Overview:

In depth understanding of Fishery Oceanography is needed by many young researchers. This course is devised, to familiarize the young professionals in the Indian Ocean-rim (IOR) countries with the latest developments in this field.

This course does not aim to teach fish biology to the oceanographers, rather it aims to teach oceanography (and its relevance to fishery) to the fisheries professionals.

Aims and Objectives

  • To make the participants thorough with various aspects of oceanography.
  • To develop understanding of influence of oceanographic processes to the fisheries.
  • To familiarize participants with various tools/approaches being used by researchers in this field.

Learning Outcomes

  • Knowledge and understanding to the topic of fishery oceanography and tools.

Target Audience

  • This course is exclusively designed to train the Post-graduates and research scholars of Fisheries Science/Marine Biology or with similar background
  • Relevant professionals from the Indian Ocean-rim (IOR) countries are highly encouraged to apply.

Course Fees

  • There is no course-fee. However, registration is required.

Course Pre-requisites

  • Participants should have fundamental knowledge of marine biology and fisheries.
  • The medium of instruction is English, hence good working knowledge of English is must.
  • Participants should make their own arrangement to attend the online classes using good internet connection, compatible OS, browser, or app; as applicable.

E-certificate:
