The course will provide exposure to the Officers of the National Institute of Hydrography, who are undergoing the Advanced Hydrography Course, on the various products and services developed by INCOIS to support operational requirements. The programme will cover an overview of INCOIS activities and the Ocean Information System, the Tsunami Early Warning System, wave modelling, ocean state forecasts (winds, waves, currents, tides), specialised tools such as the Search and Rescue Aid Tool (SARAT) for maritime rescue support and the Online Oil Spill Advisory (OOSA) system for oil spill trajectory forecasts, and Coastal Vulnerability. Participants will also visit the SYNOPS laboratory. The programme is structured as a mix of theoretical sessions and a laboratory visit, providing officers with focused exposure to key operational tools and applications relevant to naval requirements.
