Abstract
China welcomes and supports the development of IIOE-2 through various contribution, for example hosting the 2nd Meeting of Resource Group for 50th Anniversary of International Indian Ocean Expedition on Nov. 20-21, 2013, in Qingdao, China. Also China advocates the development of Eastern Indian Ocean Research Initiative (EIOURI), which is one project under IIOE-2. Chinese State Oceanic Administration (SOA) is preparing to launch its IIOE-2 project that addresses IIOE-2 themes with particularly priorities on monsoon, circulation and upwelling. The research and observation plans are introduced here, with the call for widest cooperation from the region and beyond.
