NCOIS is privileged to receive the Subhas Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar Award 2025 from Government of India for its early alerts services for ocean-related hazards. INCOIS provides forecasts on the state of the ocean during extreme weather conditions like cyclones, high wave/swell conditions, tsunamis, storm surges, etc. based on multi-model operational forecasting system built upon numerical ocean models assimilated with real time data from buoys deployed in the coastal waters as well as in the open ocean, even deep south in the southern Indian Ocean.
