During the eleventh expedition, two new sub programmes viz.,Slow rising Low Level Radiosonde and Pilot Balloon ascents were added on experimental basis. In this report data pertaining to surface weather, vertical distribution of ozone and global solar radiation have been presented and discussed. Data on radiometersonde and low level radiosonde ascents and sunphotorneter observations could not be included as these are still being processed. Pilot Balloon ascents were not successful due to early bursting of balloon and difficulty in tracking in cold environment. The meteorological programme of India Meteorological Department, in Antarctica, is of on-going nature. During the eleventh expedition, however, two new sub-programmes were included. These are Low Level Slow Rising Radiosonde ascents (LLSR-RS) for determining the temperature and humidity profiles in the lowest few kilometres of the atmosphere and Pilot Balloon (PB) ascents for determining the upper level winds. Both the programmes had been included on an experimental basis. The on-going observational programmes included continuous surface weather watch, weekly measurement of vertical distribution of ozone, and fortnightly measurement of infra-red radiation fluxes in the upper atmosphere.
