The programme is being implemented by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai. The OMNI buoys are Moored Buoy Network in Northern Indian Ocean having the capability to Measure Ocean current, conductivity and temperature up to 500 m depth and transmit hourly data through satellite. Moreover, these buoys are also equipped with radiation sensors and rain gauges too. The OMNI buoy network has been providing time series data on met-ocean parameters from the seas surrounding India, since 2010. INCOIS has been identified as the Data Centre to provide the moored buoy data to the users on request. On going Dr. R.
