In addition to this, experimental internet connectivity, installation of an ethernet based local area network, configuration of a weather server were carried out successfully. INMARSAT is a 72 member co-operative organisation with headquarters x in London. INMARSAT offers communication services to the mobile users around the globe. INMARSAT operates in four ocean regions namely Atlantic O c e a n Region East (AOR-E), Indian Ocean Region (IOR), Pacific Ocean Region (POR) and Atlantic Ocean Region West (AOR-W). An INMARSAT communication neceessarily involves the Mobile, the Satellite and the Land Earth Station (LES). A land earth station provides the interface to National or International Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). INMARSAT has a wide range of mobile terminals?Standard-A, Standa r d - B , Standard-C and Standard-M. Users can have a choice on the basis of service required and the space/weight limitation. The terminal can be either l a n d based or maritime, based on the application. Standard-A and Standard-B h a v e an option of High Speed Data (HSD) connectivity.
