Brief Description (Abstract):

Structural assessment of Maitri building in Antarctica was carried out by two scientists of SERC during the XXIIIIAE. This report gives the details of work carried out, defects, damage and deterioration found in the structure, and observations made during the study.

Status: Completed

Purpose: 1. Detailed visual examination of the structure, identification of locations which require further detailed inspection/examination. 2. Collection of samples of the materials used in the construction of the structure and collection of any other relevant data and information relevant to the structure.3. Collection of data from accelerometers using impact hammer technique. 4. Preparation of report giving details of the condition assessment of the existing structure, analysis/interpretation of results of various measurements and recommendations to improve/strengthen the existing structure if feasible.
