Brief Description (Abstract):

To carry out tasks designated by NEERI in its protocol "Proposed studies during XIV th IAE"

Status: Completed

Purpose: In view of the protocol on environmental protection to the Antarctic treaty in 1991, it was obligatory to carry out proper Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and generate baseline parameters of Maitri station. The objectives of the study undertaken by NEERI was the collection and collation of data on various components of environment viz. air, noise, water, biological and land, and to assess the likely impacts on environment.
