Brief Description (Abstract):

As part of radar and satellite meteorology project, the Optical Rain Gauge (ORG) is installed at Mandhardev, a remote location in the complex terrain of the Western Ghats. The ORG continuously provides the precipitation measurments on rainfall rate and rain accumulation which is useful for rainfall characterization and microphysical processes in the cloud system. The ORG observations are carried out as part of the monsoon campaign every year.
