The left figure shows the continental landmass as it was created; it contains a long fissure running north-south along the centre. The right figure shows the continents after they were separated by a volcanic explosion on the sixth day of creation.
According to Snider-Pellegrini the separation of the continents meant that the biblical flood did not reach America; as a consequence the indigenous Americans are direct descendants of Adam and Eve, while all others are descendants of Noah.
