Path of the South Pole across Gondwanaland
The apparent path of the North Pole derived from remnant magnetization of European and American rocks. Time is indicated by geological era:
- Ca = Cambrian (570 million years BP)
- S = Silurian (440 million years BP)
- D = Devonian (395 million years BP)
- C = Carboniferous (345 million years BP)
- P = Permian (280 million years BP)
- T = Triassic (225 million years BP)
- J = Jurassic (190 million years BP)
- K = Cretaceous (136 million years BP)
- E = Eocene (54 million years BP)
