Zhaozhou bridge

The Zhaozhou bridge in Zhaoxian, Hebei province, is an example of early Chinese road building. It is 9.8 m wide, 50.8 m long and has a span across the Jiao River of 37.4 m.

The bridge was constructed in 590. It is still in daily use today. Some records say that it is the design of Lu Zun, others credit the stone mason Li Chun for the work.
