Propagation of coastal trapped waves along the east coast of Australia as seen in sea level records from the Great Barrier Reef obtained during January and February of 1989. The observations were low-pass filtered to eliminate tides and oscillations with periods less than 3 days. Individual waves are seen to travel northwards, as indicated by the connecting green lines which indicate propagation in time from Bundaberg to Mourilyan Harbour.
