Inertial motion in the Baltic Sea, superimposed on a slow northwestward drift.

It appears that a wind burst of several hours occurred during late 18 and early 19 August. When the wind subsided, the water is seen to move on circles, with a general movement towards sligthly west of north. Friction reduces the inertial circles, until the inertial motion has nearly did away on 24 August.
