INCOIS is celebrating its silver jubilee in the year 2024. Established in 1999, over the past 25 years,
INCOIS has made significant contributions to ocean science and services in India and its neighboring
countries. Some of its key achievements include developing and operating a network of ocean observing
systems, providing ocean state forecasts and coastal hazard warnings, conducting research on oceans, and
playing an essential role in international oceanography. INCOIS's silver jubilee is a significant milestone
for the organization and for India's ocean science community. To commemorate the INCOIS silver jubilee
celebrations, Drawing/Painting Competition has been curated for young, enthusiastic students. This contest aim to foster and
promote their keen interest and passion in the realms of knowledge, science and art. This document
outlines the rules and regulations of the competitions that are envisaged to be conducted as part of the
INCOIS silver jubilee celebrations. The competition will be held at ITCOocean building of INCOIS.
Format of the competition: First Round
Schools across Telangana can nominate their students for participating in this competition within the last date given in the guidelines. The registration will be deemed complete only if the nomination-cum-declaration form in the prescribed format Annexure duly signed by the Head of the School/Institution is uploaded within the last date mentioned in the advertisement. The nomination-cum-declaration form contains an undertaking from the competent authority of the school that in the event their student reaches finals, they will be allowed to participate in the offline competition to be held at INCOIS, Hyderabad.
The artwork will be scrutinized based on creativity, technique, originality, and relevance to the theme to narrow down to 30 finalists who will be brought down to INCOIS to attend the final in-person competition.
The primary goal of this competition is to encourage creativity, educate students on the chosen theme, and
promote a passion for art among the students.

Rules of Qualifying Event
The competition is open only to students of classes 3 to 5
All entries must be submitted through the designated Online Form on or before Last Date: 12/01/2024.
Participants are allowed to submit only one original artwork created by themselves
The submitted artwork should only be made using watercolors based on the theme of the competition
The artwork must be a new and original creation for this competition and must not have been previously published, submitted to other competitions, or copied from any source.
Participants must not submit any artwork that infringes upon the copyright or intellectual property
rights of others.
Artwork must be submitted as a high-resolution image (JPG, PNG, or PDF) with a minimum
resolution of 300dpi.
The file size should not exceed the specified limit of 500 KB
Proper lighting and framing should ensure that the image accurately represents the artwork. The participants must write their Full Name, Class and School name at the top right corner of the drawing, and it should be visible in the uploaded file (as shown in the Sample file)
By submitting the artwork, participants grant the organizers the right to display, promote, and
share their entries (with proper attribution) for the purposes of the competition and associated
publicity.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, technique, originality, and relevance to the theme.
The judging panel's decision (in this case INCOIS, Hyderabad) is final and binding.
Each participant must submit a Nomination- cum Declaration form (Annexure) duly
signed by their head of institution at the time of submitting the Google form.
Failure to upload a valid declaration form and artwork in the prescribed formats will lead to disqualification.
All official communication regarding the competition, including results and updates, will be made
through the contact information provided in the Google Form.
The personal information submitted via the Google Form will be used solely for the purpose of
the competition and will not be shared or used for other purposes.
Participants experiencing technical difficulties in submitting their entry should contact the
organizers (outreach@incois.gov.in) for assistance well before the deadline.
The organizers are not responsible for any technical glitches or issues that may arise during the
submission process.
