 1. EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION  
   
 RTSP INDIA detected an earthquake with the following preliminary information: 
   
 Magnitude:  	 4.8 mb (Slight) 
 Depth: 	 113  km 
 Date:  	 17 Jan 2013 
 Origin Time:  	 0455 UTC 
 Latitude: 	 28.97 S 
 Longitude: 	 69.63 W 
 Location: 	 Chile-Argentina Border Region 
   
 2. EVALUATION 
   
 This earthquake happened on land part of Chile-Argentina Border 
 Region.  Based on historical earthquake and tsunami data, Tsunami 
 Threat does not exist for Indian Ocean. 
   

 3. ADVICE 
   
 This bulletin is being issued as advice. Only national/state/local authorities 
 and disaster management officers have the authority to make decisions regarding 
 the official threat and warning status in their coastal areas and any action to 
 be taken in response.  
   
 For more detailed information, please refer to the advisories issued by  
 respective National Tsunami Warning Centers (NTWCs) of IOTWS member states.
